About What You’d Expect

Recently, KOSU and The Spy gave Tower Theatre the opportunity to host a weekly radio show on The Spy. With some helpful coaching from Ryan LaCroix and Ferris O’Brien, I have started sharing an hours worth of music each week on Saturdays at 9 p.m.

About What You’d Expect is for fun. While my job is to know music and artists, the show is really just stuff I’m interested in. Sometimes I’m trying to highlight an upcoming show, but mostly About What You’d Expect is my creative outlet for all the music I’m listening to in the Tower Theatre office each day. I’ve always appreciated finding new music and prefer to try and stay one step ahead of what’s currently on the radio and that’s the general aim of the show. That often gets confused as being a music snob, but really I’m just hyperactive and like hearing what’s next.

The real hero of the show is Jay, producer and engineer for the show, who does the hard work of setting up and making me sound good each week.

To get a sample of the show, here are some Spotify links to past episodes. Catch one live on Saturdays at 9 p.m. on 91.7 in Oklahoma City, 107.5 in Tulsa, 88.3 in Stillwater and 94.9 in Ponca City. Thanks for listening!
